Cardinal Manufacturing Presents Upcoming Business Workshop, Open House

Cardinal Manufacturing, a company within a school (Eleva-Strum School District), where students learn about manufacturing and gain firsthand experience, has announced an upcoming workshop in April and an open house at the beginning of May.

Join Cardinal Manufacturing instructors, students, industry partners and school administration, presenting “Starting and Growing Your Student Run Business Workshop” on April 20, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Attendees will learn how to create a student-run business like Cardinal Manufacturing in one’s school district. Cardinal Manufacturing, a year-long, two-credit class, offers a combination of standard classroom instruction and real-life problem-solving experience, “Filling the Skills Gap One Student at a Time.” Born out of the pursuit of an in-school manufacturing business in 2008-2009, Cardinal Manufacturing says it has had great success in providing students valuable technical skills, but also the soft skills and employability skills that employers demand. The educational organization meets a variety of needs for local individuals and businesses as well as for companies located outside of its immediate area. Design, machining, fabrication, welding and repair work are a few of the services offered.

To learn more, Cardinal Manufacturing is having an open house on May 3, 2023 from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Eleva Strum High School Shop. There will be raffles, free food, drinks and desserts, and live demonstrations. A mini concert put on by Chris Kroeze (5:30 p.m.) and a meet and greet (5:45 p.m.) is also offered, and visitors can get a copy of Cardinal Manufacturing’s new book “Dream Big. Have Fun.”
