Laser Welding Workstation Adds to Changing Landscape of Mold Repair
LaserStar Technologies’ FiberStar 8801, to be showcased at IMTS 2022, combines power and precision with an adjustable workspace for repairing molds.
LaserStar Technologies Corp.’s FiberStar 8801 is a state-of-the-art laser welding workstation that workshops across the nation are said to be adopting as their workhorse. The power and precision of fiber laser technology, combined with the utility of a large, adjustable workspace, make this machine the ideal solution for repairing molds.
Capable of output up to 600 watts, LaserStar says the 8801 cuts deep and clean with all the power of an axe — while still offering the accuracy of a scalpel. Fiber lasers generate little heat at the welding point, enabling users to easily weld on intricate, heat-sensitive parts. Whether delicacy or raw strength is needed, fiber technology can complete any job with high stability.
According to the company, the level of versatility is echoed in the design of the machine’s body, which provides an open workspace for large molds and can support up to 300 pounds. The robust worktable enables users to raise, lower and maneuver molds with ease using three-axis motorization. LaserStar machines are designed and assembled in the U.S. with the express purpose of maximizing speed, efficiency and ease of use.
