MMT Chats: Mental Health Is a Part of the Changing Manufacturing Workplace
MoldMaking Technology Editorial Director Christina Fuges chats with Human Asset Management Founder Marion Wells about how COVID-19 has accelerated the need to address the workforce development challenges our industry faces, including the mental health of your workforce.
#leadership
I have worked with Marion Wells on workforce development projects for two years now. We've tackled a survey to uncover the current state of workforce development in moldmaking. We did a presentation that shared survey results and strategies for upping your workforce development game, and most recently we tackled mentorship. We launched a cross-generational mentorship pilot program, whose participants and outcome were featured during Amerimold Connects, our remote event experience this past June (which you can view here).
However, in this 20-minute chat, I ask Marion to break down how to recognize anxiety in the shop and how to help employees cope with uncertainty, so they remain productive and happy in the workplace.
“Three steps to managing mental health in the workplace: (1) Notice,(2) Talk and (3) Act.”
