YCM Technology (USA) Inc. announces the introduction of a 3-year warranty, effective immediately, on four of its most popular vertical machining centers (VMCs). The CF/CX Series C-frame machines offer either 3+2 or five-axis high-performance machining of parts up to 400 mm in diameter. The RF/RX ram-type machines are also available in 3+2 or five-axis high-spec configurations for part sizes up to 650 mm in diameter.
The RX65, for example, is pointed to in particular for moldmaking applications. Fellow moldmaker Steve Michon from Zero Tolerance who purchased this system notes that it’s now “the workhorse of our high-value machining; it replaces two machines as far as work throughput goes.”
“YCM machining centers have a reputation for performance and reliability, but we want our customers to have the added peace of mind that if something unexpected does happen they are covered,” Tony Pekalski, president of YCM Technology (USA) Inc., says. “Today, five-axis machining centers are becoming the workhorse for many shops. Though the technology is stable, the fact remains they have more moving parts and therefore more potential points of failure. The YCM 3-year warranty puts the company’s full commitment and support behind these high-performance solutions.”
The CF/CX and RF/RX Series are reported to share many of the same innovations and performance features, including rigid designs and thermal stability, a result of Meehanite castings made in YCM’s own foundry, followed by hand scraping of all mating surfaces. The 12,000 rpm (or optional 15,000 rpm) spindle is designed and built in-house by YCM, and all axial movements are controlled by linear guideways, pre-tensioned ball screws, and direct drive motors for high torque and accurate positioning.
